Experience

Mr. Omar has 10 years of local and regional experience in Business law, including Commercial law, Corporate Law, Capital Markets and Securities Laws, Public Offerings, Privatization, Mergers and Acquisitions, Tax Law and Corporate Finance. He advised on major transactions taking place in Egypt in connection with the above-mentioned areas of specialization. Moreover, he was a member of the drafting committee for Takeover Code and the Mutual Funds & Private Equity Regulations.

In his capacity as the legal consultant to the Chairman of the Egyptian Capital Market Authority, Mr. Omar participated in several projects related to the reform of the legal framework of the securities markets in Egypt.

Mr. Omar was the drafter of the explanatory notes, forms and applications related to the Incentive Stock Option Plans. He further prepared the application form to be filed by the Egyptian Capital Market Authority in order to sign the MoU for Membership with the IOSCO. He also reviewed proposed changes to the regulations of margin trading and securities borrowing and prepared the draft form of the repurchase agreements for treasury bills and government bonds. Mr. Omar was in charge of drafting the rules on segregation of securitized portfolios.
